Terms of Use

Last updated 30 September 2026. Also read our Privacy Policy.

The short version

  • Artist for Gigs connects artists with people who need them. The artists are independent, not our employees.
  • Artists pay nothing to join: no onboarding fee, no subscription.
  • On every gig booked through us, 70% of the fee goes to the artist and 30% to Artist for Gigs.
  • If we introduce you to an artist or organizer, book them through us for the next 12 months.
  • Artists keep full ownership of their work.

1.About these terms

These Terms of Use apply to your use of artistforgigs.com and any services offered under the name Artist for Gigs, including gig bookings and Tarang events. Artist for Gigs is run by Developmental Era, a sole proprietorship owned by Ankush Srivastava and registered as a micro enterprise with the Ministry of MSME (Udyam Registration No. UDYAM-MH-33-0801907). "We", "us" and "our" mean Developmental Era. "You" means anyone using our website or services, whether as an artist, an organizer or a visitor.

By using our website or services, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use them.

2.What Artist for Gigs does

Artist for Gigs connects artists (such as musicians, poets, comics, dancers, painters and mural artists) with individuals, event organizers and companies looking to hire them ("organizers").

We help find, recommend and coordinate the right artist for an event, and we handle payment for gigs booked through us. Artists perform as independent professionals. They are not our employees, agents or partners, and nothing in these terms creates an employment relationship between us and any artist.

3.Who can use our services

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law. If you're booking for a company or organization, you confirm that you're authorized to act on its behalf. Artists under 18 may work with us only through a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms on their behalf.

4.For artists

  • No fees to join. We don't charge any onboarding fee, subscription or listing fee. There are no hidden charges.
  • The 70/30 split. For every gig booked through Artist for Gigs, you receive 70% of the gig fee and Artist for Gigs keeps 30%. Our share covers running the platform, promoting your profile and finding you clients.
  • Accurate information. Your profile, portfolio, rates and availability must be true and current, and the work you show must be your own.
  • Showing up. Once you confirm a gig, you're expected to perform as agreed. If you can't, tell us as early as possible so we can find a replacement.
  • Taxes. You're responsible for your own income tax and any GST that applies to you. We will deduct tax at source where the law requires us to.
  • Permission to promote you. You allow us to use your name, photos, recordings and samples of your work on our website and social media to promote you and Artist for Gigs. You can ask us to stop at any time, and we will remove this content within a reasonable time.

5.For organizers

  • Accurate event details. Tell us the truth about your event: the date, venue, audience, duration, budget and what you expect from the artist.
  • Payment. Pay the agreed gig fee on time, in the way confirmed at booking.
  • Respect and safety. Provide a safe venue and the facilities agreed for the performance, and treat artists with respect. We may refuse or end a booking if an artist is put at risk or mistreated.
  • Artists' work. Don't record, stream or commercially use an artist's performance beyond what was agreed at booking without the artist's written permission.

6.Bookings and payments

A booking is confirmed when both the artist and the organizer agree to its details (including date, fee and scope) in writing, which can be by email or message. Gig fees for bookings made through Artist for Gigs are paid to us, and we pass the artist's 70% share on to the artist within the timeline confirmed at the time of booking.

What happens if either side cancels or changes a confirmed booking will be set out in that booking's confirmation.

7.Booking artists introduced through us

Our 30% share is how we keep Artist for Gigs free for artists. So, for 12 months after we introduce an organizer to an artist, any gig between them must be booked through Artist for Gigs. This applies to both the organizer and the artist. If a gig is arranged directly in breach of this, we may charge the organizer our 30% share of that gig's fee and may stop working with either party.

8.Content and intellectual property

The Artist for Gigs name, logo, website design and text belong to Developmental Era. You may not copy or reuse them without our written permission.

Artists keep full ownership of their own work, including songs, poems, performances and artwork. Using our services doesn't transfer any of those rights to us or to organizers, other than the limited permission described under "For artists" and whatever is agreed in a booking.

9.Events, photos and recordings

We may photograph or record our events, including Tarang open mics, and use this material on our website and social media. If you appear in any of it and would like it removed, email ankush@artistforgigs.com and we will take it down within a reasonable time.

10.What you must not do

  • give false information or pretend to be someone else
  • use our services for anything unlawful, or to harass, abuse or discriminate against anyone
  • submit or perform content you don't have the rights to, or that is illegal or defamatory
  • try to interfere with, hack or misuse our website
  • collect other users' contact details to contact them outside a booking for spam or marketing

11.Disclaimers

We try to recommend artists and organizers carefully, but we can't guarantee the outcome of any event, the quality of any performance, or that an event will go exactly as planned. Our website and services are provided "as is". We aren't responsible for the acts or omissions of artists, organizers or venues, or for anything outside our reasonable control, such as weather, illness, travel disruption or government orders.

12.Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits or lost business opportunities, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim relating to a booking is limited to the amount Artist for Gigs actually received as its share for that booking.

13.Indemnity

If a claim is made against us because you broke these terms, broke the law, or infringed someone else's rights, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses we suffer as a result.

14.Suspension and termination

You can stop using our services at any time. We may suspend or stop working with anyone who breaks these terms or acts in a way that puts artists, organizers or Artist for Gigs at risk. Bookings already confirmed will be handled fairly, and the sections on payments, intellectual property, liability and indemnity continue to apply after termination.

15.Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If a dispute arises, we'll first try to resolve it with you in good faith by email. If that doesn't work within 30 days, the courts at Thane, Maharashtra will have exclusive jurisdiction.

16.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page with its "Last updated" date. Continuing to use our services after a change means you accept the updated terms. Changes won't affect bookings that were already confirmed.

17.Contact and grievances

For any questions or complaints about these terms or our services, contact our Grievance Officer. We will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within one month.
